Reflection

Formative and summative assessments can be observed frequently in my classroom. I assess my students in many different forms, including informally and formally. The artifact I chose to highlight was from my assessment in math. Math has various forms of assessment that I process, and that helps delegate how I teach the content. The formative assessments, whether on this checklist or informal observation, allowed me to see how students are processing the content being taught and how I need to meet their needs or adjust my instructional approach.

Eureka Math Problem Sets

At the end of every Eureka Math lesson, students are given a problem set to complete. All problem sets are modeled as a whole group and students complete them independently. Depending on the lesson, students grade it on their own with the whole group, or I will collect them to grade.

Math - Core Fluency Differentiated Sets

Four Sprints are provided in this lesson, with Sprint A being the most simple addition fluency of the grade and Sprint D being the most complex (including addition and subtraction). I select the Sprint that is most appropriate for the students.

Students complete as many problems as they can in 96 seconds
(6 seconds per problem). One hundred percent accuracy and
completion are recommended before moving to the next level. I collect data on Google Sheets, which state if they completed the paper with 100% accuracy or not.

Progress Report (Sent to Parents)

This progress report was shared with parents at Parent Teach Conferences. I was able to test students for all of the evaluations and complete the progress report as well. I pulled students to work with them one-on-one to complete the necessary requirements. Some students I had to assess over a span of days, depending on their behavior.
