InTASC Standard
The teacher understands how to connect concepts and use differing perspectives to engage learners in critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem solving related to authentic local and global issues.

Standard 5: Application of Content

Reflection
The teacher uses varied perspectives and opinions to teach students the concepts while applying multiple disciplines to teach one concept as well as connect pre-learned concepts into new ones. In the artifact below, I incorporated a math lesson and merged the ats and language arts as well to celebrate the 100th day of school. Also, The teacher provides students with opportunities to learn about the rest of the world and discuss issues. Morning meeting allows me to discuss the important issues that may arise in my classroom, like being kind or celebrating our differences. Students eagerly share their thoughts on the morning meeting question and apply it with their own personal experiences.
Morning Meeting Discussions
Topics that we discuss as a class during the morning meeting:

100th Day of School
Students celebrated the 100th day of school by creating 100 days of school headband. Students had 10 color bands, and they had to apply 10 dots of paint on each head band. Finally, they were able to decorate their headband creatively. We read the 100th day of school math book as well to celebrate the 100th day. In this lesson, I was able to incorporate language arts, arts, and math to create a hands-on activity.
