Reflection

When teachers work in teams, it allows them to build meaningful relationships with their colleagues and it gives them the sense of being a part of something bigger. With my constant collaboration with faculty, we are able to come up with fun and interactive lessons to teach students. Along with that, I get involved with after-school activities with the students. Finally, I make sure to be actively involved in all meetings that I could have attended during student teaching. With the collaboration I have experienced during my student teaching, it has led to more innovation, efficient processes, increased success, and improved communication with myself and others.

Collaboration with Faculty

Every morning before school or during preparation time, I meet with the Kindergarten team and we discuss the plan for the day or the week. We all try to remain on the same lesson in the curriculum to remain on track for the year.

On Fridays, we get the flexibility to make each lesson something related to the curriculum and a fun activity.

Below you will find a math lesson that I wrote for the Kindergarten team where we incorporated a fun virtual trip to Disney World mixed with subtraction and addition sentences up to 10. The students were so excited and had so much fun on the adventure!
